This week we' ll be talking about FASHION MODELS!
Lets starts off by some simple little facts about them to begin :
- Most models were discovered by the age of 15, either at a mall or even the beach
- The average size of a model is 5 foot 10 and 112 lbs., while the average woman is 5 foot 4 and 135 lbs.
- Brazil has had more models working for Victoria's Secret than any other country, including the United States.
- New York is a world capital of fashion
- Supermodels receive 45-50 million dollars a year !
- Models have to ooze confidence (hahaha nice word huh ?)
- Designers in the 1500's used dolls to model their clothing
- The skirt is the second oldest women's garment in history
- Modeling is a career that doesn't require any specific degree or credential
*It takes alot of guts and confidence to be a model. I t also takes alot of listening to other people as well. When your a fashion model you have to cut your hair the way that the designer wants it or eat what you really don't like, etc. I personally love fashion and would love to attend a real fashion show but I wouldn't want to be a model, but I wouldn't mind making that much money !
I remember when I used to want to be a model. Well, those days are over... I mean modeling would be fun because its just taking pictures, traveling the world and wearing awesome clothing. But then again like you said, you have to look the way the designer wants you to look.
ReplyDeleteOn ANTM sometimes the girls have to cut their hair or something and they cry over it, bu they do it because it's their ultimate dream to become a model. Me, I just couldn't do it.
